1) The new flag of Calgary needs to represent a symbolic step towards Indigenous reconciliation and acknowledgement.

2) The new flag of Calgary needs to recognize today’s diversity, inclusiveness and equality in the City’s growing multicultural community.

3) The new flag of Calgary needs to celebrate the beauty and fragility of our two precious rivers, the Bow and the Elbow - the reason Calgary is situated where it is today.

The current flag of Calgary addresses none of these meaningful opportunities.
