Every year, high in the mountains, glacial ice feeds small streams, propelling their journey eastward to a distant ocean. Along the way, the streams gather mountain minerals that colour the waters a breathtaking turquoise. The streams merge, become rivers. One river travels southeast, another northeast. The two course through the foothills, nourishing forests and fields. Where they meet, at their confluence, our city was born.
